Downloading Steps

1. Click on the link of the embroidery format your embroidery machine uses:

2. A dialog box pops up: choose the "save to disk" option

3. Another dialog box usually pops up: In the "text area" of that box is the name of the folder on your computer where the design will be placed when you click "Save"

In this example the file will be saved with the name "IEC05ART.exe" in the Desktop folder. If you click on the little "button" with the triangle on it at the right end of the text box following the "Save in:" field near the top of the popup window, you can direct the file to any folder you desire it to be sent to. If you are new to downloading, I recommend sendng it to the desktop, because the files are easy to find. If you don't put the file on the desktop, write down the name of the folder where it is being saved.

4. Close or exit the internet program.

5. Go to desktop (or to the folder) where you put one of the design files you have downloaded.

6. Put a floppy disk in your "A" drive.

7. Click the file icon of the design you downloaded. Since it is an "exe" file, it will open without winzip or any other software being used.

8. Click the "unzip" choice

9. Launch your sewing embroidery software program, direct it to open a file from your "A" drive, and you should see the design displayed as your particular software will show things.

Note: Viking Designer 1 users who download the SHV format should put ONLY ONE design on each floppy unless they are familiar with "Disk Manager" software from Viking.
